The most terrible pests of the garden: a spider mite - how to get rid?

We open our section on the most terrible pests of the garden. Agree, I don’t feel like staying with them one on one. Therefore, we are in a hurry to help.

A spider mite is considered a very unpleasant pest. Who just did not come across it, growing plants, both in the country house and even at home. The saddest thing is that the genus of such a pest belongs to the multinocious, and, therefore, it does not matter to it which plant to begin to destroy. Flowers, cucumbers, strawberries, beautiful shrubs - all for nothing.

All gardeners and summer residents know that there are many methods of dealing with these little enemies. But sometimes you can inflict such a devastating blow to the pest that the plant will die. Sometimes, when in a hurry we forget to carry out preventive treatment in the country, we take the plant home for wintering, this evil pest is at our place.

It should be noted that this small enemy is very prolific - it rapidly multiplies everywhere. Except in Antarctica, if you believe our Wikipedia.

How a spider mite comes into the house

Usually, if the soil or plants are infected, then disasters can not be avoided. The soil should always be treated, but those new plants that appear in your house always undergo mandatory quarantine.

As a rule, the pest of a plant begins at the bottom, so it is very difficult to see. Then he gradually begins to lay eggs and scabbly breed.

Just think: the females lay their eggs, make cobwebs, a week later larvae appear that after two weeks themselves can be fertilized!

Ticks adore young leaves, and they do not need to move to another plant. As soon as you notice that the plant has begun to lose vital juices, it is already too late. The spider mite sucks the entire contents of the leaf, along with chlorophyll.

First, these are specks with clear boundaries, and then this is a chubby, lifeless leaf. In the end, the leaves fall off. This leaf fall is obtained.

If your home is warm and dry, then the spider mite will multiply many times faster.

Start the fight

Gardeners, whatever one may say, prefer chemistry. They still have large and voluminous landings.

By the way, some summer residents use the original method: they plant other pests in the greenhouses - those who are afraid of the spider mite. This is western metaseyulus, phytoseyulus. An interesting method, of course, but very expensive.

For flowers in open areas fit:

  • Fufanon;
  • Actara;
  • Actelik.

If the disease touched vegetables or fruits, then, of course, we should choose something from biological products. For example, Fitoverm - it actively paralyzes the tick.

The scheme is the same for the above drugs: 3 treatments for seven days. Why is that? To avoid relapse, because the larvae, as we know, mature in 7 days in an egg.

If you do not want to use chemistry, then get ready for a very long fight and subsequent therapy.

Two tricks:

  • The grated soap is foamed and applied to the foliage, then a plastic bag is put on, it is kept for several hours, and then for 2 days, the procedure is repeated again. This method is not suitable for all plants.
  • garlic. grind 100 gr. garlic, add 10 gr. household grated soap in water 0.5 liters. Insist 5 days and strain. It turns tincture. Take 10 ml of tincture and stir in 1.5 liters of water. After spraying the plant and soil 3 times during the week.

What methods have you tried?
